Do you know how to bring a bulldozer to mountains?
To do mining or exploration work, professionals disassemble the machinery, attach each part to a small parachute and GPS, says David Barnes, Aviation Safety Expert at Matrixco.ca. GPSs not only tell those parachutes where to land, but also navigate them by pulling parachute strings to fight wind and bring them all to the same required spot. Over there in the mountains or other hard-to-access areas like the Arctic, the bulldozer is assembled. After work is done, the bulldozer is left there forever or until more work is required in that area. Who knew?! ~ Fun facts from the Prospectors, Developers and Investors Conference in Toronto @PDAC 2018
